Whether it be fanfiction, original stories, drabbles, songs, poems, books, or anything that has to do with creative words, then reblog. Let’s gather all the writers of Tumblr together.
At last, I have finally finished writing my first ever proper novel. I ended it a few months back, and spent a few weeks changing small sentences and paragraphs of it and adding any ‘finishing touches’, and now I am satisfied that it is finished. In total it is fifty-six pages long (the story only), but I intend to write another few pages at the end to explain the facts and the true terror of the real story behind it. I hope that anyone who reads it enjoys it; a lot of work and research went into it. Thank you to all those who helped and encouraged me throughout the time spent writing it!
“Thought is not merely expressed in words; it comes into existence through them.” I love this quote. I believe what it says - good literature can have a very powerful meaning and can have a very, very strong effect on peoples’ lives. I am not saying I write well - I am miles away from that stage at the moment - but I want to get to it someday.
‘At the Sign of the Sugared Plum’ - Mary Hooper
I found this book in the library a couple of months back and read the first few paragraphs, falling in love with it instantly. From the moment I got home, I couldn’t put it down and finished it within days.
Set in the 1600s, Hannah is full of excitement of going to work in London at her sister’s sweet shop. When she meets Tom, a local boy working at the pharmacist’s, and her old friend from her chilhood, life couldn’t be better for her. However, rumours of the Plague are circling, and, as the people of London are decreasing in numbers by the day, panic grips the city. Should she stay with her sister, friend and lover, or leave to the safety of the countryside?
Anyone aged 12+ who enjoys historical novels, adventure or romance should read this - it made it to my ‘top-ten best books’ list easily!

My name is Ellie and I enjoy writing and reading - so far I’ve written one book and am currently writing another, which I hope to publish, along with many more in the future. I love writing historical fiction, and I admire the work of Mary Hooper and the Lady Grace Mysteries.
